In their last matchup against the Mavericks, Şengün finished the night with 31 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and 1 block for the game. Respectable numbers from the third-year man out of Turkey.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough to take down Dallas as Luka Doncic put up exceptional numbers. Doncic had 41 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists for the game. Along with 27 points from Kyrie Irving as well.
If only the Rockets had any other play step up that night, the game would’ve had a whole different outcome. The Rockets only lost by a five-point margin, a tough pill to swallow for any player, coach, or fan.

The Houston Rockets could bulldoze past the Denver Nuggets in the game prior to the loss to the Mavericks. The Rockets won that game with a final score of 105-86, defeating the Nuggets by a 19-point margin.
Houston was a well-oiled machine that night, scoring in bunches from every other spot on the floor. Nikola Jokic’s 38-point and 19-rebound performance was barely enough to win the game against the Rockets that night.
So, given that the Rockets lost their last game to the Mavericks, Şengün, and the team still seem confident. Given how they took care of the reigning NBA champions in their last matchup.
