This offseason has been a disappointing phase for James Harden. The 34-year-old has been marred with controversies for the last few months and his problems are a long way from over. Back in August, on his trip to China, Harden spewed venom against Daryl Morey, which was followed by immense backlash.

Months later, his ‘beef’ with the Philadelphia 76ers is still going in full swing despite his recent training camp move. The 2018 MVP has drawn a lot of negative press to his name and, continuing with the unfortunate trend, an ex-NBA champion has recently blasted Harden.

There is no questioning when it comes to Harden, the athlete. He has been one of the biggest stars the NBA has ever produced and he still has a long way to go. However, going off of his recent issues, he has been in the trends more for the wrong reasons. The new season is approaching and we are now days away from the big day. In light of that, teams are finishing up their preseason rituals with the media day, the photoshoots, and whatnot. However, in the case of the 76ers, the 10x All-Star decided to excuse himself from participating.

This begs the question as to why Harden is pulling such a move on his own team. Although it is understandable that he has had a bad few months as far as his satisfaction with the team and its management goes. But, he still is a 76ers player and his presence must be marked before the Philly franchise embarks upon the new season.

Recently, Stephen A. Smith had his say about The Beard. “I like James Harden a lot, but he’s been acting like a damn child,” Smith said.

Ex-76ers star calls out James Harden’s bluff

Harden’s name carries a lot of star power. However, 1999 NBA champion Antonio Daniels believes that he doesn’t have any leverage left in the tank. As per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Harden is expected to join the team’s training camp today. Following this news, Daniels blasted 34 YO for playing his cards wrong. He said “All Leverage Has Been Lost”, because come next year, Harden is going to be a free agent.

The 48 YO also had a word of advice for the 76ers star. As per Daniels, if Harden wishes to be pursued by other teams in his free agency, he needs to get his principles in order.
