Age is just a number—a phrase that fits perfectly for many of the NBA stars in the current season. LeBron James, 39, plays like a young gun. Stephen Curry, 36, is the three-pointer king and engine of the Dubs. Aren’t you missing out on someone? Yes, the Boston Celtics center Al Horford. Starting strong in the NBA since 2007, the 38-year-old Big Al never fails to amaze with his skills on the court.

However, some broadcasters seem to have a major problem with his age. For some reason, they keep bringing up the number in their commentary. Why not put the age aside for once and focus on his contribution to the league for all these years? After all, the 5x All-Star and NBA champ has much more to his persona than being 38.

Taking this matter up on social media, Al’s sister, Anna Horford called out the commentators. Without filtering a word, the supportive sister tweeted: “I wish commentators would bring up Al’s contributions & defensive presence as much as they bring up his age 👀”

And no, his age doesn’t really matter if his game is strong. Besides, there is a lot more to be worried about than what the media has to say about the Celtics superstar. This is because a concerning health update has left the C’s front. It looks like Al Horford has a new injury.

Al Horford most likely to be on the sidelines for Saturday

On Friday, Horford logged 36 minutes vs. the Milwaukee Bucks. His last-minute heroics- an astounding 3-pointer after Giannis’ miss, got the home crowd at TD Garden to go into a frenzy. Registering 9 rebounds for the night, the Boston Celtics center was on a roll. However, with doubts looming over his Friday appearance, the fear has turned into reality.

Al Horford will miss Saturday’s clash against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a left big toe sprain, per Justin Turpin of WEEI.com. While the official report cites the injury, whispers suggest this could be more about preserving the veteran’s durability. With Horford sidelined, the Celtics will rely on Luke Kornet and Neemias Queta to step up. The absence raises questions about Boston’s depth and whether they can handle the Grizzlies’ intensity without their seasoned anchor.
