SZA and Lillard both floored by a TikTok sensation—Is social media the new talent scout?

The Milwaukee Bucks star guard, Damian Lillard, doesn’t shy away from making opinions. Whenever he needed to take a stance, the 34-year-old took to social media and dropped his message. Notably, during the Caitlin Clark WNBA debut issue, everyone sided with Charles Barkley’s views on going easy on the rookie. However, Dame decided otherwise. While those were serious affairs, the star also has a lighter side to him. Impressed by a gymnast’s moves, the star followed singer SZA’s steps to appreciate the talent.

Shaquan Parson, a viral gymnast from Atlanta, Georgia, has been a TikTok sensation lately with his insane moves. With over 1.4 million followers on Instagram, Parson has already got the attention of a lot of celebrities, including Ryan Reynolds. Notably, 4x Grammy award-winning artist SZA, who recently surprised, revealing that she used to be a gymnast, is a big fan of Parson.

In that lineup, Damian Lillard has also enrolled himself. The Bucks guard shared a video of Parson, performing an incredible move along with a note on his IG story. He wrote, “Ain’t a more impressive mf athletically lol.” Impressed by the viral TikTok sensation, Lillard declared that there isn’t anyone more impressive than Shaquan Parson athletically. Parson indeed floored Dame Time.

On the other hand, Parson has a lot to share about SZA. He dedicated a special highlight section for the celebrities reacting to his content on IG. Firstly, SZA followed the TikTok star on IG, leaving him absolutely stunned. Following that, she even shared his content multiple times on her IG stories. In one of the stories, she even wrote, “Ummm ur a superhero duh?” Above all, the ‘Good Days’ singer even sent a personal message to Parson, encouraging him, “Ur energy is infectious wow!! such a light !!!”

SZA surprised everyone ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics

As part of a promotional campaign for the Olympics, NBC brought athletes and celebrities together. On July 1, the latest post from NBC surprised everyone as it featured SZA and Simone Biles, the decorated gymnast of the United States. In the video, the duo can be challenging themselves for a handstand competition.

It came as a surprise for a lot of people that singer SZA had a history with gymnastics. 13 years before she began her singing career, SZA a.k.a Solána Imani Rowe tried her luck at the sport. No wonder she was impressed by Shaquan Parson’s impressive videos. The singer ultimately seemed to have won the competition. Biles indeed had her practice set before she landed in Paris for her third straight appearance in the Olympics, representing Team USA.

Notably, Simone Biles will walk behind superstar LeBron James in the opening ceremony, who the management appointed as the flag bearer alongside the young Tennis sensation, Coco Gauff. With many world-class athletes assembled in Paris, how many gold medals do you think Team USA will win in the Olympics? Let us know in the comments below.
