The NFL Playoffs hype has invaded the NBA. Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, two staunch supporters of their hometown teams, couldn’t keep calm. With the Commanders taking on the Lions, the two have been bickering over the superior team for a while now. And to make matters even more interesting, they intend to make the other’s pocket a bit lighter. Not that two superstars on multi-million dollar payrolls will mind a hit, but that’s what being a good sport is. Put your money where your mouth is!

Just hours before the kickoff to the Saturday night playoff game, Kevin Durant and D Book’s Suns will be taking on the Pistons. Before the game, the two stars checked in at the Little Caesars Arena in style. The Phoenix Suns posted a handful of videos on X of their players ahead of the game. KD and Booker’s ones were of special intrigue as both of them showed their true colors.

Durant kept his style minimal with a black puffer jacket, but a Washington Commanders jersey peeked out from underneath. The 2-time champion’s love for the team is well known, so it’s expected he would turn up in red for the divisional round. However, Booker showed up in flair, rocking a Detroit Lions jacket. Even if there was no potential friction in the Phoenix locker room earlier, here certainly will be some after this matchup.

Hopefully for the Phoenix fans, the two will be on the same page for their game against the motor city side before they head to the Ford Field for the NFL game. And a lot is on the stakes for the two than only the bragging rights.

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker took their parlay game up a notch

The Suns are having their fair share of trouble this season. The recent faltering form is far in contrast from the early season tailwind they had. With injuries gripping Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal and Jusuf Nurkic hitting rock bottom on court, the Suns were freefalling in the West. But the ship has again steadied momentarily. With the locker room tension notion dispelled with a 5-2 record in the last 7, excluding the now underway Pistons game, the vibes are back in Phoenix.

This was evident when Booker declared “we’re (Lions) the favorites,” after Thursday’s win over the Wizards. “I don’t know if he’s going to be ready for that. We’ll see,” the 4-time NBA All-Star said targeting the Slim Reaper. And KD was all game for the imminent clash with his buddy. “It’s whatever, man, whatever he wants to do, man. I’m feeling confident,” the 36-year-old said about the stakes.

KD has predicted 24-21 in favor of the Commanders but Book is feeling it, raising the stakes. Booker and Durant agreed on NBA per diem as the bet wager. That means $161 per day on the road. The Suns are in a five-game road trip ending on Jan 22. For the 10 days on the road, that’s $1,610 for each of them in the pool making it a sweet $3,220 cash out.

While they’ll be leaving together for the game, their seating can be in two different suites. “Not sitting next to that man with that blue on,” Durant warned Booker ahead of the showdown. Looks like their true feelings for each other is finally out in the open but no one will mind if they keep hooping for the win in their orange shirts.
