The conflict between Israel and Palestine has been going on for decades, leaving a trail of casualties in its wake. However, things took a turn for the worse in early October. The Hamas fighters fired rockets into Israel and stormed southern Israeli cities and towns across the border of the Gaza Strip. The attack took Israel by surprise, who retaliated with its jets bombing the Gaza Strip. Israel sealed off the Gaza Strip from food, fuel, and other supplies on Monday in retaliation for the bloody incursion by Hamas militants.

Several celebrities have voiced their opinions on the bloody war that ensued last weekend. One such celebrity is Ayesha Curry, who expressed her thoughts about the horrifying scene developing in the Middle East.

Pete Davidson addressed the ongoing crisis between Israel and Gaza during his cold open on Saturday Night Live. He spoke about his own experience with such tragedies as his father Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter, lost his life in the 9/11 attacks. The Bupkis star said, “I saw so many terrible pictures this week of children suffering?Israeli children and Palestinian children?and it took me back to a really horrible, horrible place. He then divulged an anecdote about what helped him during the face of tragedy. Davidson said, ?After my dad died, my mom tried pretty much everything she could do to cheer me up. I remember one day when I was eight, she got me what she thought was a Disney movie, but it was actually the Eddie Murphy stand-up special, ?Delirious.? We played it in the car on the way home, and when she heard the things that Eddie Murphy was saying, she tried to take it away. But then she noticed something. For the first time in a long time, I was laughing again?.

He further added, “I don?t understand it. I really don?t. I never will. But sometimes comedy is really the only way forward from tragedy”. This powerful speech received a vote of approval from Stephen Curry‘s wife Ayesha Curry, who took to Instagram to share the SNL speech with “??????????” on her story. Moments before showing her support for Pete Davidson’s heartfelt ‘SNL’ speech, she publicly requested help for a noble cause.
