Jordan Poole was a beloved member throughout the NBA world for his confident style of play. He was especially a favorite of the Dub Nation and we all know why. But towards the end, Poole’s time with the GSW did not end on a high note. His trade to the Washington Wizards proved to be a major upset to the many following.

Washington, for its part, had ‘Poole Party’ signs held aloft and their excitement at his arrival was palpable. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an easy ride for the 24-year-old Milwaukee native. So much so that the interim head coach of the Wizards, Brian Keefe, had him relegated to the bench after the All-Star break.

He wasn’t happy about it, naturally. And knowing how vocal Poole can be, he didn’t bother hiding his frustration either after his first game off the bench. But ultimately, decisions have to be taken on behalf of the team. And Coach Keefe did exactly that when he got Bilal Coulibaly to start in the NBA champion’s place.

But it would seem all that’s in the past as a recent update from the Wizards’ official X account showed Jordan Poole in a top-to-bottom Washington ensemble; supporting D.C’s very own, Washington Capitals at the NHL clash. The tweet said, “Big D.C. vibes from JP tonight at the Caps game.”

The shooting guard was present for the Washington Capitals vs Boston Bruins game at Capital One Arena. Unfortunately, though, the night turned out to be in favor of Boston.

In an interview with Andscape around two weeks ago, Jordan Poole said that he wasn’t bothered by all the negativity and memes about him making rounds on the Internet. Talking to Martenzie Johnson, he said, “We’re just in an era where we’re attracted to the negativity.” He isn’t a major social media junkie – no X account and minimal Instagram engagement.

While he knows the key role that these platforms play in today’s era, Poole is also equally aware of the harm they can do. That’s the main reason he pays little to no attention to them. The young guard also mentioned that his cocky, arrogant, confident style of play might have been what contributed to all the hate. But what these haters fail to understand is that Poole as a basketball player is different from Poole as a person.

So, while all the noise continues in the background, Jordan keeps his head in the right place. As opposed to his regular season averages (16.9 ppg, 2.6 rpg, and 4.0 ast), he is averaging 20.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 4.9 assists since the All-Star weekend. Poole is back at the starting guard position for the last seven games as well.
