Boasting 4 championships in 8 years, the Golden State Warriors have established themselves as a premier team in the Western Conference. However, it would be ignorant to assume that they achieved this success only on Stephen Curry’s back. The Warriors “Big Three” of Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green laid the foundation for their phenomenal success.
Draymond Green plays a pivotal role on the Warriors roster despite not being the most conventional NBA superstar. While possessing a tenacious defensive ability, the 33-year-old is not the best scorer. Unfortunately, the 4-time All-Star is part of a roster that depends extensively on three-point shooting. Discussing this aspect of his game, Green opened up about how his confidence declined as a shooter on Paul George‘s podcast.
“I’ve never lost confidence in my game so I’ve still been able to have a really good career and be successful and do the things that I’ve done. But I know how it feels to lose confidence because I lost confidence in my shot,” he said, opening up about his struggles in scoring.
Green further added, “The reason you couldn’t tell I lost confidence in my shot is because I was doing everything else so well…..I had to change everything, like could you imagine, I was a scorer my whole life…now you lost confidence in that, you still gotta become an All-Star….”
Draymond Green shared his experience on losing confidence in his shot. However, he recently took to Instagram to share a message about struggles through legendary strong safety, Troy Polamalu’s quote.
