After saving the All-Star weekend, Stephen Curry bids adieu to the Hoosiers. Amid the criticisms surrounding the lack of excitement in the events scheduled in the All-Star weekend, the Dubs superstar almost singled-handedly saved the league. The 4x NBA Champs’ three-point challenge against the WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu turned out to be the most celebrated event. Now that the superstar headed back to the Bay Area, he dropped a special message to the Indianapolis crowd.
He took to his X handle and wrote, “#10 in the books!! A lot of GOOD happening this weekend in Indy…next year we turn up in the Bay!” along with pictures from the weekend.

Stephen Curry almost missed his spot in his 1oth All-Star game this season. OKC Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander stole his starting line-up slot and put the Bay Area fans in worry. Fortunately, he made a return to line-up via West reserves. Apart from that, he also accepted a challenge raised by WNBA star Sabrina Ionescu, who holds the record for the most point scored in three-points challenge across leagues.
And, ironically, the Steph-Sabrina challenge became the most hyped up event of the weekend. Fittingly, it turned out to be the most exciting event of the lot. Sabrina set the bar with 26 points, leaving Steph with very less margin for error. The fun-filled challenge suddenly turned into a nail-biting affair and Steph sealed the deal with 29 points at the end.
He took home the trophy and a championship belt, and on the following day, he turned up for the ASG. He had a silent night, dropping 16 points in his 26-minute stay.

Steph shines in a dull All-Star week
In the last few seasons, the All-Star weekend gets its fair share of criticisms from the fans for its less competitive nature. Firstly, the Skills Challenge event had a sloppy effort from the ballers. Most notably, Anthony Edwards shot with his left hand for crucial buckets and missed all three of them. Then, the Dunk Contest stopped being exciting ever since the Aaron Gordon–Zach Lavine contest from 2020.
Finally, the ASG, the defenders refused to guard the players, leaving wide-open three-pointers and dunks for fun. It even led to a hilarious total of 211 points, most points in the history of the league. However, the only event which stood out of the lot was Steph-Sabrina contest and stars even hoped that the league does it more often.
