Wednesday night was a full circle moment for Bronny and LeBron James. The rookie scored his first-ever NBA points, and that too on the court that his father, LeBron, still calls home despite his LA allegiance. To celebrate the young point guard’s major moment, the net was handed over to Daddy James so that Bronny could take it home- a tribute no one else ever received in the league. That gesture must have melted the 4-time champion’s heart, who was already experiencing a flood of emotions. Could this be enough to pull LeBron back to his former stomping ground? The latest episode of The Hoop Collective discussed the topic.
The host, Brian Windhorst, was of the opinion that the Cavaliers are no longer hopeful about LeBron’s comeback. Instead, they are in a good place. On the flip side, Marc J. Spears believed that there could be a third stint for Cavs. “Like, after LeBron retires and when the Cavs want him to come back to do things, those are the kind of things that, alright, ‘I’ll find time to come back for that,'” the Insider stated. “Because it’s like hey, look, I don’t have a child, but I always hear people say, like, it’s one thing if you do something for me. If you do something that makes my child feel special, that even means more to him.”
Given LeBron’s reputation as a supportive father, Spears’ claim is hard to deny. “I’m not in LeBron’s head, but I could kinda sense in the press conference that, that really meant a lot to him,” he added. And he further highlighted how the 20-time All-Star must have felt witnessing the acceptance Bronny received from the home crowd, especially with the “We want Bronny” chants that once cheered for him.

Amid the harsh criticisms, Bronny’s ability to stay calm has made LeBron proud as he stressed how difficult it would’ve been for him to handle that pressure.
LeBron James gets candid on son Bronny’s struggles and media pressure
Ever since the Lakers drafted Bronny, he has been criticized brutally for his not-so-impressive skills and especially for carrying the James surname. While a lot of things have been said, the rookie has remained silent, showing the maturity that LeBron James believes, he might not have been able to do.
“He’s better than I would’ve been in that situation,” LeBron said following the 134-110 defeat against the Cavs. He confessed, “If the roles were reversed, I don’t know if I would be able to handle it.”
Bronny indeed went through a lot, and his future is still hanging as the Lakers could be sending him to their G League affiliate, South Bay Lakers, once the team returns from their road trip on the sixth of the month. LeBron also showed his thumbs-up for the move earlier in the franchise’s media day for his son’s growth. Is there another story brewing already? Can we see a family reunion in Cleveland in a few years when another James enters the league? Now, that would be a story of a lifetime.
