The Warriors Guard’s motion on the court has overwhelmed defenses for a long time. While his ball-handling skills are top-notch, His ability to make cuts is equally impressive. Truly, the Guard is both a Point Guard and a Shooting Guard. Building such a game requires immense work. And this is what Denver Nuggets’ Wing Michael Porter Jr. talked about in this interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks.
Since the amazing defender works out with the sharpshooter in the off-season, Rooks asked him, “What have you kind of picked up from him doing that?”. To which the enthralling Wing replies, “I’m close with him and his trainer. When we work out together, really, Steph’s best attitude is his conditioning. Some guys may do a star drill, where they run from the top of the key to the corner to the other wing to the other wing to the other corner.”
The Forward reveals the difference in how he does the same drill.
He goes, “He is doing the same drill but from full-court. From the top of the key here to the opposite corner. So his conditioning is his best attribute. So that’s what I pick from him. And his attention to detail, I think that is something all the great players have, their routine. So he definitely has that, for sure”.
Michael admires Curry. He also admires his shooting skills. He compliments Curry by saying, “You don’t just become that good at shooting just by a gift. Some of it is a gift, but you gotta work to become one of those shooters”.

Seems like the practice sessions with Steph are doing wonders for MPJ. Last season, he made 186 triples in 62 games and the average of three triples per game is the best of his career. He has always been an efficient shooter, shooting over 40% from the deep for his career. Unlike Steph, he doesn’t take over 10 a game but fulfills his role well as a spot-up shooter.
He has also picked up the winning mindset from Curry. While the Guard couldn’t get past the Lakers in the West Semis, quashing his chances for a fifth championship, Porter Jr. won his first championship alongside Nikola Jokic. Considering he’s just 25, his game can take further monumental steps.
