The Milwaukee Bucks fall in deep trouble after losing four in a row. Despite having a strong roster, Giannis Antetokounmpo-led side has been doing it all wrong. While Coach Doc Rivers took the blame till now, even after his ‘Blame game’, the focus has currently shifted to the Greek Freak. Especially after Damian Lillard’s “lonely” confession, critics have thrown in questions regarding Giannis’ leadership skills. Meanwhile, veteran center Brook Lopez doubled it down with his latest statement.
Over the last two seasons, the Bucks haven’t had much luck on the court. Despite finishing in the top positions in the Eastern Conference, the team somehow managed to blow it up in the postseason because of injuries. However, this season, the Wisconsin side seems to have two new problems. Firstly, they have forgotten to win games and the Damian Lillard concern.
A few months ago, Dame Time confessed that he had been lonely ever since he moved to Milwaukee. Building on that, former NBA player, Kendrick Perkins left a harsh criticism of Giannis Antetokounmpo, saying, “Dame came out and said, ‘Man, I go to practice, I go to games, I come home. It’s lonely’. If I am Giannis and here those comments… I’m doing everything in my power. I’m inviting Dame over to the house to eat… I don’t give a f**k, we are gonna do something.” Looking at the team’s performance and Dame’s recent performance, it has left a tint on the big man’s leadership.

Amid this situation, Brook Lopez put forward a strong plea after the loss against the Grizzlies, further tainting Giannis’ image. The 36-year-old big man said, “It’s just a matter of realizing. You know who we are, being confident out there and continuing to play together be just be a team.” Intentionally or unintentionally, Lopez has pointed out the lack of camaraderie in the Bucks fold!

Can the Giannis Antetokounmpo & Co. turn back the clock?
Damian Lillard put on his worst performance of the season, dropping four points with 1-12 FG and surprisingly going 0-6 from the distance. Despite averaging 23.2 ppg this season with a high score of 33 points, Dame looked completely out of rhythm. It did nothing but prompt the critics to ponder over his confession. While Giannis can look after his teammate as a leader, there are plenty of other issues to be addressed very early in the season.
Firstly, there is a lack of contribution apart from Dame and Giannis, especially from the bench. The team suffers a massive hit during Giannis’ off-court minutes. Recently, Doc Rivers even blamed the second unit for not pressing the gas on the press conference. Moreover, there are general concerns about the Bucks’ rebounding and turnovers.

Doc Rivers may have to bring young and athletic players into the rotation so that the team won’t miss out on their offensive rebounds. Currently, the team is in the 27th spot for rebounding in the league. The team might need to regroup again before the start of the In-season Tournament and get back to their winning ways.
