The 35-year-old joined the league in 2009 after the LA Lakers drafted him. Since then, he has played for five other franchises in the league. However, there have been some signings that have not sat well with Beverley. He recently unveiled one such story which involved the Golden State Warriors.
Beverley was once very close to signing with the Warriors, however, their lack of conviction made him question their intentions and feel afraid at the same time. In order to avoid ending up in the wrong spot, Beverley thought better for himself and ditched Curry and Co.
He was recently on the GQ Sports Actually Me show. During the segment, Beverley came across a fan’s question, asking if he really snubbed the Warriors to sign with the Chicago Bulls. The Philadelphia 76ers star replied, “This is absolutely true.” He then presented the reason behind making such a decision. Beverley said that even though the Warriors wanted him, it was conditional as they were waiting to see how Curry’s injury would play out. Additionally, they were also waiting to see “how the Gary Payton thing played out.”
