Is Kevin Durant's disrespect towards Jokic and Doncic justified, or is he just being petty?

Amidst the new coach’s arrival and several developments by the Phoenix Suns for next season, their star Kevin Durant is enjoying his off-season calmly. However, the 14x All-Star could not stay away from the media headlines for long with his latest comment on the current ‘Big 3’ of the NBA. On Logan Paul’s ‘Impaulsive’ pod, KD cited LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and himself as the Big 3. It is not completely wrong considering their longevity at the top of the game, however, only American players are on that list.

The nuances of this trio from Durant could not get past ‘The Odd Couple’ hosts Chris Broussard and Rob Parker as they stated their version, later crushing the ‘biased’ trio choice. As per the host, Chris Broussard, the NBA’s Big Three of the current generation are “Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo.” Even Rob Parker shared the opinion as he further took a dig at KD for ignoring international players

He stated, “This is the total disregard of international players and acting like they haven’t done anything. It doesn’t make any sense.” However, it was not all talk only from the Fox Sports analyst; he also showcased the facts along with the claim, stating, “Jokic won three of the last four MVPs.” Soon after, Chris Broussard jumped in, further adding, “The three guys we’ve named Luka had not even won one, but they’ve won five of the last six.”

He also took into account the 2 MVP titles that Giannis won in 2019 and 2020. The criticism further continued as Chris mentioned that Durant has not won an MVP since 2014! But the Suns veteran was not the only person the Odd Couple’s duo ranted about.

Rob Parker rained down heavily on Logan Paul after Kevin Durant!

The Fox Sports analyst was so mad about the negligence of Kevin Durant that he indirectly went after Logan Paul and his co-hosts as well, for their lack of research. He questioned, “Can somebody just push back on Kevin Durant and say Joker has won three of the last MVPs? Wait, he’s not in your top three of the Big Three?” As per Parker, the hosts were just “head nodding.”

Well, Rob’s point made sense since if a podcaster is marking himself in the position of a reporter and asking questions from someone like Kevin Durant. It only makes it easier and provides a valuable chunk of video content for the listener to understand, but also clears up why the speaker, like Durant, made that statement. However, that did not happen in Logan’s case, “they didn’t even flinch,” Rob exclaimed.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Kevin Durant's disrespect towards Jokic and Doncic justified, or is he just being petty?

Have an interesting take?

That’s why Rob was upset that the podcasters did not ask KD why he was “disrespecting international players who have won last six MVPs.” Overall, in retrospect, the statement from Durant does seem like a bias because he didn’t clearly provide the reasoning.

“People don’t have to agree with your opinion. The one thing that people want is they want to feel like ‘Can you make the argument?’ So at least I know how you got there,” Parker asserted.

What’s your opinion on KD’s statement? Was he legible, in his opinion, or was it just a mistake? Let us know in the comments.
