The 2003 draft class remains one of the most iconic ones in the history of the league. The NBA was introduced to the likes of James, Wade, and a certain Carmelo Anthony in that season. The 39-year-old influenced the game in his own way, becoming an inspiration for many.
His greatness recently reached a new height as the NFL icon Mahomes called himself his fan. “I was a Carmelo Anthony fan,” the 2-time Super Bowl champion said before adding, “I wanted to have that guy”.?This proved how spread out his impact on the culture was.

This May, after 19 seasons in the NBA, Anthony left the court for good deciding to call time. Seven weeks after that, the fellow greats of his draft class surprised him at the ESPY. LeBron called him “a powerful force to behold” while Dwyane addressed him as a fellow brother to showcase the camaraderie of the Banana Boat Team. This makes us recollect one thing.

Since getting drafted by the Denver Nuggets back in 2003, Carmelo has been a force to reckon with. His shooting skills won the hearts of millions as rose to the stardom quickly.
The 10-time All-Star came close to winning the championship multiple times but failed to reach there. This takes nothing away from the legacy he has left behind as his endeavors serve as a benchmark.
