The Memphis Grizzlies came out of one of the most disappointing seasons in their franchise history. Last season, they set an unusual record of unveiling the most starting lineups in a season, solely because of their injury rut. While they seem to have turned it around this season, the team seemed to have gotten caught in similar trouble. On the other hand, the Philadelphia 76ers have growing concerns regarding Joel Embiid and Paul George‘s fitness. Let’s take a look at both teams’ injury reports as they take on each other tonight!
Following the Paris Olympics success, Embiid hasn’t really set foot on the floor. Last season, a grave left knee injury restricted the big man to 39 games. Heading into the fresh season, the team has yet to play him citing load management. Meanwhile, Paul George hyper-extended his left knee during the preseason and hasn’t played any since then. Four games into the season, the latest update revealed that both stars took part in full practice and 5-0n-5 scrimmages.
While ESPN’s injury status has reported that the team has ruled out both stars for tonight’s game, Coach Nick Nurse might surprise fans. On the other hand, the Grizzlies have a pretty lengthy list. The team has seven players on the list, including Desmond Bane and Marcus Smart. Both these players missed the team’s commanding win over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Bane sustained an oblique strain and Smart suffered an ankle sprain, which forced them into week-to-week. So, the Grizzlies will have to play their upcoming week’s play without these two experienced players. Other than that, the Grizzlies’ report also included Luke Kennard, Cam Spencer, Vince Williams Jr. GG Jackson, and John Konchar (Questionable). Now that we know how the injury report looks, let’s take a look at the altered depth chart.
Philadelphia 76ers depth chart amid the Joel Embiid dilemma
Amid the noise surrounding Joel Embiid‘s injury break, the big man broke his silence and delivered an important message to fans. He said, “If your body doesn’t react well, and if your body tells you one thing (sit out). I’ve done it… I’ve broken my face twice, I came back early with the risk of losing my vision… When I see people say he doesn’t want to play, I’ve done way too much for this city, putting myself at risk for people to be saying that.” Let’s hope that Embiid takes the necessary rest and returns to action quickly.
