Sonya Curry, mother of Stephen Curry, took up the task of spreading an important parenting hack to the world. As Ayesha Curry is also expecting her fourth child, Sonya’s advice could well come in handy for the 35-year-old entrepreneur. Two years ago, Steph’s mom wrote a book on parenting and family, filled with hacks from experience. While anyone in the world can write about raising kids, the 57-year-old has an obvious upper hand after raising two NBA players and a social media celebrity.

Speaking of her book, Fierce Love, Sonya revealed that the constant persuasion from fans ignited her to write the book in an interview with Essence. Well, of course, anyone would want to know how she brought her kids and Sonya had welcoming advice. In the interview, she discussed the crucial segment of parenting, which is self-care.

Speaking of it, she added“I’ve always worked while raising my children and have learned the hard way what burning the candle at both ends will do: cause burnout.” She also stressed that parent’s self-care is the top priority in the interview.

It’s a universal fact that the parents of a newborn hardly get any sleep. To put an end to the trouble, Sonya said, “Sleep is vital… Find time to be alone for at least 30 minutes per day… Sleep when the babies are sleeping.” And on raising superstars, she says the intentions were always to “be good and productive human beings.”

Apart from raising her three kids, she is also a grandmother to eight children. Importantly, one more baby is on the way to push the count to nine. Steph’s mom couldn’t have found a better time to drop her parenting 101, as Ayesha can keep them at her fingertips before it’s time.

In March, the Curry couple took the NBA world by storm with their pregnancy update. As Stephen Curry’s 2023-24 season with the Golden State Warriors came to an end early, he could stay in close quarters with Ayesha before the arrival of their 4th. Notably, the NBA world could see the baby Curry at the start of the 2024-25 season.

Ayesha and Savannah in line with Sonya’s view

As an actor, entrepreneur, mother, and a person of influence, Ayesha Curry has held the responsibility to send across message that matter to the public. One aspect she has touched upon has been self care. “You can’t pour from an empty cup, so to be at your best for the people that rely on you, you have to take time to prioritize yourself… Whatever that looks like for you, it’s important to take the time and be consistent,” she iterated during an interview with E!News.

As a mother of three, Ayesha’s life has come to be quite occupied. While it has its struggles, she reveals to have learnt to appreciate the simple things; self care being a part. “Maybe it’s a skin routine… or taking 15 minutes to journal,” just as simple, she adds.

Ayesha is also backed by someone in a similar position. Savannah James, an entrepreneur and a mother of 3 herself, urged the public to take self-care into their routine, via her interview with Essence. “I practice self-care daily. I don’t think that you can get enough self-care. I can’t be anything to anyone if I’m not everything to myself. I prioritize that,” she said.

The superstar women definitely have raised awareness about an important addition to one’s routine, considering the stressful and fast-paced lifestyle that has engulfed society.
