It’s official. Flau’Jae Johnson will be at the WNBA All-Star Game! Now, wait a minute. Before you say, “No way, that can’t happen.” Guess what? It will happen, on July 20, in Phoenix, thanks to one of Phoenix’s favorite sons, Kevin Durant! The 2023 NCAA champion turned heads with her performances in college ball, but now, she’ll get the chance to dazzle the fans with her rapping skills. The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game will tip off on July 20 at the Footprint Center with USA women’s team taking on the WNBA All-Stars.
Between the two halves, the league traditionally holds a performance every year, with Kehlani being the star of last year’s halftime show. This year, the stage will be for Flau’Jae Johnson to command. Her rapping during the half-time show of the 2024 WNBA All-Star game will turn into reality because of Boardroom and Coinbase’s collaboration.
Kevin Durant, the co-founder of Boardroom alongside Rich Kleiman, shared a post on his Instagram stories, making it official. Founded in 2019, KD’s co-founded venture has been responsible for hosting multiple events for the NBA and WNBA All-Star weekends.

Last year, Boardroom and Coinbase held their inaugural WNBA All-Star After-party. The event brought together a plethora of stars from the women’s game, past and present, with a guest list of over 350! “After two successful years of hosting an event at NBA All-Star, it was important for both Boardroom and Coinbase to show up and celebrate the women’s game,” Boardroom’s CMO Sarah Flynn said, during the event.
“Given that Boardroom is partnered with All-Star Sabrina Ionescu and Coinbase works with All-Star MVP Jewell Loyd and long-time All-Star Sue Bird, it was the perfect opportunity to get some of the W’s finest in a room to toast the weekend,” she concluded.
In 2022, Kevin Durant’s million-dollar company also hosted an All-Star weekend brunch. Among the many stars attending the event were LeBron James, and Rich Paul, along with names from the NBA’s front office and renowned reporters. However, the Slim Reaper was absent due to his grandmother’s death. After featuring last year, he will again miss out on this edition because of his Paris Olympics commitments with team USA-B. However, his injury situation has cast a cloud of concern over it.
Will Kevin Durant be available for the 2024 Paris Olympics?
Team USA has two dubs in the bag after two exhibition games with the latest one coming against Australia. In the game played in Abu Dhabi, the men’s team was in cruise control, but things went south after the first half. Despite that, LeBron James and Co. dug out a narrow 98-92 win. A lot of critical assessments by the fans took place in the last 24 hours about Steve Kerr after the earlier game, but a possible issue with USA-B is Kevin Durant’s absence. The 14x All-Star is nursing calf soreness and missed both the exhibition games.
But if things don’t improve soon, he potentially could see his USA dreams squashed. Just like Kawhi Leonard, he might be withdrawn from the squad but as of now, there has been no such confirmation. However, Steve Kerr will not be pressing the panic button just yet. “I know there’s still a couple of weeks before we have to make a decision roster-wise,” Kerr said. “So we’re just taking it day by day.”
