The veteran analyst Skip Bayless played a masterstroke when he added Super Bowl Champion Richard Sherman to his FS1 show Undisputed. After the departure of co-host Shannon Sharpe, Skip needed to add a personality that could match the charisma of the NFL Legend. Sherman was the perfect replacement for Sharpe because of the controversial history between Skip Bayless and Richard Sherman.
In 2013, when Skip Bayless was still working with Stephen A. Smith on ESPN’s First Take, he had a heated debate with the 5-time Pro Bowl. That was early in Sherman’s career, and things took an ugly turn when Skip and Sherman started attacking each other with personal comments. A decade later, his former co-host Stephen A. Smith opened up about the infamous incident that almost got the pair fired. But the Undisputed host called out the First Take anchor for the fake news.

Skip Bayless slams Smith for lying
Skip Bayless addressed his former partner Stephen A. Smith’s comments on the latest episode of The Skip Bayless Show. The 71-year-old analyst showed up with sheets of paper with Stephen A.’s comments draped all over them. Stephen A. gave his version of the Richard Sherman incident when Skip and Sherman went head-to-head on First Take. The segment was so brutal that the two hosts almost lost their jobs after that incident. “I knew in the back of my mind, oh my God, we could be in trouble here,” said Skip, recalling his thoughts during the segment. Stephen A. revealed that First Take was on probation at the time of the incident.
According to Smith, it was partly because of his suspension after the Ray Rice incident. But Skip revealed that his ex-partner was lying, “That happened a year and a half after Richard Sherman happened.” Stephen A. also claimed on his podcast that the bosses at ESPN did not like Skip’s Tim Tebow coverage, which added to the show being on probation. Skip called Smith out on another one of his lies, “My Tim Tebow coverage happened two football seasons back.”
After going through the list of lies that Stephen A. told on his podcast, Skip had only one thing to say, “To all of the above, I say Baloney!”

Stephen A. Smith had several other revelations about the Richard Sherman incident. “It existed because the network wanted to make sure that our show wasn’t one that just generated ratings, but one that didn’t cause them embarrassment and shame,” Smith said about the show being on probation during the incident.
