Hip-hop royalty and basketball stars have always shared a deep connection. So, it’s no surprise that the LA Lakers superstar LeBron James has a unique bond with rapper 2 Chainz. These cultural icons go back a long way, and it’s no wonder that 2 Chainz’s son can flawlessly replicate LeBron’s signature chalk toss!
In an Instagram story shared by King James, 2 Chainz’s son, a regular at James’ games, can be seen rocking an Eagles jersey (Philadelphia Eagles) while perfectly executing the chalk toss move that LeBron has been pulling off since his rookie season with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2003. James captioned the story, “Yessir!! Nephew definitely ready after that chalk (emoji) toss”
LeBron’s legendary pre-game chalk toss is one of basketball’s most iconic rituals. The move was even incorporated into the popular video game NBA 2K14. While James stopped performing the ritual after his trade from the Cavaliers, he brought it back upon his return in 2014.
