Naz Reid keeps the Wolves’ fire burning after a slump in the second quarter. The NBA Sixth Man of the Year brought out his shooting prowess in Game 2 to put up a fair and square fight in the second half. After leading the Dallas Mavericks by 12 points in the first half, the Minnesota Timberwolves blew the lead in the third quarter. While the Wolves starting five struggled to drop buckets, Reid showed up from the arc, leaving the Mavs fans in a meltdown.

The 24-year-old forward dropped 7 three-pointers in nine attempts, stacking up 23 points against his name. Notably, he dropped the team’s high score while the starting lineup refused to show in the second half. However, the game quite didn’t go in favor of the Wolves. Despite a counter-attack from Reid in the second half, it all came down to one moment at the end. Coincidentally, it was in Reid’s hands to decide the team’s fate.

Luka Doncic sunk a clutch three-pointer to take a one-point lead, leaving three seconds on the clock. It was a simple equation for the Wolves. The coach had to draw up a play to allow one of his players an open shot. Finally, Ant-Man made a good pass to Reid after a series of bad passes at the end. Reid took the shot, and it was an in-and-out, leaving the arena in disappointment.

Nevertheless, the missed three-pointer at the end didn’t take away the impact that Ried left on the Mavs fans in the game. Now that the Wolves move to Dallas for Game 3 after going two down in the series, they will need a similar performance from the star from the bench. With the storming criticisms on Anthony Edwards, the star forward might have to overshadow it with his dominance.

Mavs fans turn furious as Naz Reid tries to play spoilsport

The Dallas Mavericks have had a tough run throughout the postseason. Firstly, they took on the star-studded LA Clippers followed by the top-seeding OKC Thunder. Kyrie Irving even publicly confessed that the Thunder series was the “toughest” playoff series of his career. Nevertheless, they managed to decimate. Now, they have yet another tough team to eliminate to find their Finals berth. While they comfortably won Game 1, Naz Reid came in as a party pooper.

This certainly didn’t impress the raging Mavs fans, as they took to social media to express their frustration. A fan put their thoughts into words clearly and wrote“Naz Reid is annoying as f**k.”

This fan straight-up signed themselves up on the haters’ list. On one hand, Reid has been on the hunt to collect a huge fanbase in Minnesota. Notably, a certain section of Wolves fans from different age groups decided to get a Naz Reid tattoo to express their support for the rising star. On the other hand, he is also expanding his haters’ list.

Another fan went all out to bring in a serious accusation on the 24-year-old. They wrote“Wait drug test naz reid.” Importantly, the fan indeed expressed it on a light note. Jokes apart, Reid did bring out his shooting prowess in the crucial game, sinking 7 three-pointers with a 77% 3PFG. Highlighting Reid’s act of bringing out his inner Stephen Curry, a fan dropped a perfect post.

Reid’s game didn’t just impact the fans, but also a fellow hooper. In response to the star forward’s performance, Ja Morant took to his X handle to drop his take. He wrote“naz be hoopin.” While Naz grabbed the attention of the ball fans, will he deliver in the coming games as well? Let us know in the comments below.
