A name that has become synonymous with injuries this season has been Philly big man Joel Embiid. The 30-year-old has missed a significant amount of matches this season. So, will Embiid suit up tonight? Well, unfortunately, he is questionable for the Raptors clash tonight. Embiid might not play due to his injury management, the same issue due to which he’s been sidelined several times before.

So far, Embiid has played just 16 games for the Sixers, averaging 24.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 4.5 assists. However, there are more concerns for Philly fans ahead of tonight’s matchup! Veteran guard Kyle Lowry will not be playing today. Coach Nick Nurse, on Monday after the team practice, mentioned that his hip was bothering him, hinting that Lowry had picked up an injury.

Furthermore, shooting guard Eric Gordon is listed as questionable as well. He suffered a right wrist sprain and could feature tonight if cleared by the 76ers medical staff. Lastly, rookie star Jared McCain’s season has been unfortunately cut short due to a left knee meniscus surgery. However, it’s not all bad, as Paul George has been cleared to play tonight. This will provide much-needed support to Maxey, who’s been a lone warrior for his team multiple times.

On the flip side, their opponents Toronto are also hard hit by injuries. The Raptors will be without several of their stars, including new acquisition Brandon Ingram. He’s out with an ankle injury. Additionally, Jakob Poeltl and RJ Barrett are also out of contention. With Gradey Dick and Jonathan Mogbo day-to-day. So, we can assume both teams will have to navigate without a few pieces.

Sixers’ predicted starting five for tonight with a probable Joel Embiid

With Joel Embiid probable once again, coach Nick Nurse might have to make some tweaks to his lineup for tonight. However, that’s not something the Sixers head coach hasn’t faced this season and should be able to handle. Moreover, Tyrese Maxey is scoring freely and is Philadelphia’s top scorer in the last nine out of ten games. Moreover, he’s averaging a stellar 28.1 points, along with 3.4 rebounds and 6.2 assists per game.

That said, here’s how the 76ers can line up:

Overall, both teams are in poor form, with the Sixers on a three-game skid and the Raptors on a four-game skid. That said, if Embiid is available for tonight and with George and Maxey already fit, Philly will certainly have the edge over Toronto. However, the Raptors do lead the season series 1-0 and Scottie Barnes and Co. could cause an upset on the road. But, for now, we’ll have to wait and watch how the game turns out.
