Even though Ben Simmons got his move to the Brooklyn Nets, he still hasn’t made his debut for them. The former no 1 pick has not played a single minute of basketball all season and didn’t even report to training camp. He hasn’t been in basketball shape all year long and he is reportedly trying to get back to shape before the playoffs.
But now reports suggest Simmons is far from returning. Senior NBA reporter Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Ben Simmons has remained sidelined with an irritation of the L-4 disc of the lower spine. And he is currently undergoing treatment for that. But he also stated that the Nets remain hopeful that he can play a few regular-season games before the playoffs start. Simmons has missed the Sixers games with Mental Health issues and now a lingering back issue may cause him to miss the entire season.

They have to make the playoffs first, Woj

He might as well sit out the season and rehab. Incorporating a non shooting PG on the fly seems like an impossible task.

But implementing an all-star point guard maybe is difficult with only a few games to go. Especially one who is not a good three-point shooter. The Nets will have a decision to make, either implement Simmons with a few games to go or shut him down for the season. It would be a shame to see such a talented player sidelined. The fans would want him to return as fast as possible, but the final decision lies with the management. What is held in store for the talented player? Only time will tell.
