Nate Diaz says he will fight Conor McGregor for the third time and wants to defend his baddest fighter’s belt against Masvidal

Nate Diaz vs Conor McGregor, probably the most notorious rivalry in UFC history. They have been part of two of the biggest PPV of UFC. In the first fight, Nate submitted Conor, shocking the world and in the rematch, Conor avenged his loss by beating Nate with a split decision.

Since then fans have been waiting to see the third installment of this fight, but Nate’s inactivity for the last three years and Conor’s shifting his attention to other endeavors have prevented this fight to take place. But Conor made his comeback to the octagon last year against Khabib. And Nate Diaz just made his return with a bang. Diaz dominated Pettis in the co-main event of UFC 241, which leaves many paths open for Nate Diaz.

When asked about whether he would fight Conor McGregor for the third time, Nate Diaz said that he is looking for the badass fights and he would fight Conor if everything fits into the schedule.

“If that’s something that works into the schedule I’m gonna fight baddest dudes in the biggest shows that people want to see. that’s what I want to do. it’s up to everybody who is involved in that.”

However, it seems Nate Diaz already has an opponent next in line for him. After the fight, Nate Diaz called out Jorge Masvidal saying that

“He( Masvidal) maybe a gangster but he ain’t no west coast gangster”

Before the fight with Pettis, Nate Diaz expressed his frustration on how UFC has been pushing the wrong guys instead of pushing the fighters who have been in the organization for a long time. Talking about the whole scenario with the fight game Naye Diaz said:

“Just because you have to recognize who is the best of the bests in the game and it is not who they are saying it is. it’s who I am saying it is. it’s the guys who have been here forever and still on the top fo the game.
Like Pettis just knocked out Thompson who was just fighting for the welterweight title a whole bunch of time and then he fights Pettis and Pettis knocks his ass out. Who is the real badass dude in the 170 division.”

When asked about why he chose Masvidal Nate Diaz said

“Masvidal goes in there and knocks Ben Askren out after he has been in here since I started fighting here in 2004. That’s the best fighter to me, the best martial artist who is still on the top of the game”

Nate Diaz said that if everything goes the way it’s supposed to then he would be fighting Masvidal very soon. Dana White in the post-UFC 241 interviews said that the fight between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal is the fight to make and that’s what the people would like to see.
