Across the history of humankind, human beings have devised multiple ways to unify people. Among the right answers, sports would probably be a possible prospect. People’s love for sport has transcended boundaries and continues to do so indiscriminately. NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr. feels the exact way too.

Junior’s area of interest ranges from motorsports to American football. However, one relatively unknown favorite of his was wrestling. Does that imply his affinity for NASCAR took a hit due to his inclination toward wrestling? Let us hear about it in his own words.

Wrestling as a sport has undergone a massive evolution in this country. Starting as a sport that was claimed to be too violent, it has gradually turned out to be one of the biggest sports in terms of revenue and stardom in the country. But as an entertainment sport, wrestling was on a different podium back then. A more crude version of physicality was the backdrop of the 1980s when the wave of wrestling took America by storm.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. began to get into wrestling at that exact time, which morphed him into a massive fan of it. Kicking off the latest episode of his podcast, The Dale Jr. Download, he revealed a clue about their guest.

“I’m excited about all our guests, but sometimes, especially when it’s not someone for NASCAR or motorsports, yes, we do those. We love them,” said Junior.

The podcast has been an excellent platform for stars from different sports to share their opinions. Not just sports, but notable people from various fields of life have also been a part of the widely-followed podcast.

The two-time Xfinity champion then proceeded forward, saying, “We had some really great opportunities presented to us in the past and here’s another one. So, I’ll straight up be honest. When I was a little boy, I watched a lot of wrestling.”

“Every Saturday we watched wrestling. So much so that it was actually restricted from diet. I’d get a little too rowdy. Me and my friends, we wrestled in the basements of our houses, had fake matches with the belts and everything.”

The latest episode of the podcast starred WWE star Cody Rhodes, who has been a known name in the industry for more than a decade now. Famous for his athleticism and strong acrobatics, Cody has seen seasons change for the sport’s community and business.
