During the 2016 Champions Week event, legendary swimmer, Michael Phelps delivered a monologue where he praised NASCAR’s very own seven-time champion.

During the monologue, Phelps stated, “This isn’t just another night for our seven-time champion. He set records and now stands alongside two legends. But for him, it’s more than that. It’s personal glory and the reward for a lifetime of hard work. And for the rest of us, it’s the knowledge that we just watched the greatest driver who ever lived.”
The year 2016 marked the 7th time Hendrick Motorsports driver, Jimmie Johnson lifted the championship-winning trophy and entered a celebrated league of athletes who have also shared this miraculous feat. People such as Sir Lewis Hamilton in Formula One, Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt Sr in NASCAR, and Valentino Rossi in MotoGP among a few others are also a part of the revered seven titles club.
