Is success only measured by someone’s presence at the top of a pyramid? Well, the answer can surely be ambiguous and subjective in nature. For athletes like Max Verstappen, success is equivalent to the number of championships, but for NASCAR drivers like Michael McDowell, success is all about thriving in one of the world’s most competitive sports.

Starting out his career as a NASCAR driver at the grassroots level, Front Row Motorsports driver Michael McDowell is the personification of ‘patience is a virtue.” The driver may not have a single shot at winning a championship, but he has proven that he can be a strong contender for victories along with other Cup Series champions.

Owing to the facts, it seems that the driver might have the opportunity, which would provide further impetus to his Cup Series career.

The Front Row Motorsports driver reveals his intentions of joining Tony Stewart’s team.

The state of affairs inside the Stewart-Haas Racing stable is assuredly not pleasant, as the team deals with a number of departures from its team, both drivers and sponsors. The retirement of its star driver, Kevin Harvick, seemed to have thrown a curve ball on the forethoughts of the team,  as did the departure of one of the team’s primary sponsors, Anheuser-Busch.

And to add to the misery of the team, the other team member who might follow the same suit as Kevin Harvick is Aric Almirola. The primary question at this juncture would be, Who shall replace this veteran driver? There have been multiple names that have arisen that the team might put into consideration, including drivers from the Xfinity Series and also McDowell, given his newfound favorable season in the ongoing season of the Cup Series.

However, it seems that things might not fall into their designated places as McDowell clears the air regarding his transfer to Tony Stewart’s team for the upcoming season. In an interview published by Jayski, the Front Row Motorsports driver revealed, It’s awesome, humbling and rewarding,”.

“It’s nice to be in those conversations, even if those conversations aren’t happening. It’s funny to hear the chatter about a lot of those things. It’s rewarding, but I just don’t think about that a lot,” McDowell added.

The No. 34 Ford Mustang driver so far has had a favorable season with six top-10 finishes and sits above the cutline of the playoffs, with 17 points above the cutline. Should there be no more new winners in the remaining five races of the regular season, the driver can easily see himself gliding into the postseason. The thought of driving into the postseason is surely exhilarating for McDowell, but McDowell believes in staying in the present and keeping it realistic.

In the interview, Michael McDowell expressed, “I’m thinking about where we’re at, but I’m not worried about it because I know that [five] races in our sport is an eternity and so much can happen in those weeks.”

He concluded by adding, “You just have to focus on the week that is in front of you, the race that’s in front of you, a qualifying session and make the most of every single lap and session that you can get. It’s going to stack up how it stacks up.”

With the next race at Richmond, it is to be seen whether the driver is able to keep up with the momentum and deliver another favorable finish and park his car in the playoffs or stumbles down with on-track debacles.
