It was set to be a perfect farewell, but it wasn’t. Shaun White narrowly missed out on the Gold in the last showing of his career at the Beijing Olympics. However, an athlete with his achievements, with his prestige, with his legacy only needs to look at the love and respect he’s getting now that he’s out. And one of his admirers is NASCAR’s, Chase Elliott.
Elliott, the 2020 Cup Champion, is inarguably one of the biggest rising stars in the stock car racing scene in the country. The Hendrick driver tweeted his respect and his admiration for the outgoing White.
“What a legend of snow and skate… thanks for doing it right all these years,” Elliott wrote as he added a ‘GOAT’ emoji at the end.

Chase Elliott and team extends long-term deal with sponsor
UniFirst, a market leader in supplying workforce uniforms, recently extended it’s deal with Hendrick Motorsports as well as the primary sponsorship of the Dawsonville native.
The American brand, that first joined HMS in 2016, will now have a deal that runs through 2028, something which thrilled Chase Elliott.
He said, “UniFirst has been a great partner since they moved to the No. 9 team in 2020.”

“We’ve won an All-Star Race and a championship together, and I’d love to get them a points win in 2022. It’s cool to see their passion for NASCAR and Hendrick Motorsports, and I’m looking forward to continuing to build our relationship with strong performances on and off the track.”
In the exhibition race of LA Coliseum, the Hendrick driver could only manage an 11th placed finish. However, he would know that there’s a long season ahead of him, plenty of time to get on the throttle and leave everyone behind.

Because this year, Chase Elliott would hope to not only make the playoffs for the seventh year in a row, but repeat the outcome of 2020.
