Recently, we have seen a lot of smoke in NASCAR, with the governing body penalizing teams and drivers left and right following the Phoenix Cup race. This has divided fans but most of them seem to despise the action big time! While the league is sticking to its principles on paper, most of the fans believe the recent fines to be a far stretch.
Denny Hamlin was one of the drivers who were on the receiving end of NASCAR’s wrath. While he was in the headlines for quite some time for his confession of wrecking Ross Chastain on purpose, we now hear his thoughts on a driver who made the headlines more recently with his on-track antics at last week’s Xfinity Series race.

In his popular podcast, ‘Action Detrimental’, the Joe Gibbs Racing driver opened up about the hilarious stunt Josh Williams pulled recently.
Denny Hamlin talks about the Atlanta incident involving Josh Williams
Denny, in the latest episode of his podcast, drew an interesting parallel to what he saw on the track on Sunday. Talking to his co-host Jared Allen, the No.11 Camry driver seemed fairly surprised to see the reaction from Josh Williams.
Now, seeing the eventful race, Denny and his co-host pointed out how the incident was similar to when Antonio Brown walked off the field.

While Allen started the discussion by pointing out how the former NFL star retweeted the incident, Denny said, “I think, I think, he deleted but like, I think I saw that, but like, awesome stuff right?”
But what had happened at the Xfinity Race that let Hamin make this comparison? Well, Josh had a crash on Lap 27, which caused damage to his car. While the pit crew managed a quick remedy, the damaged fender kept falling off, and this caused the company to step in and pull the driver and his car into the garage.
But Josh wasn’t happy with this call. In frustration, he parked his car on the start/stop line on the track and simply waved to the crowd as he walked back to the pits.
In the podcast. Denny reminds the fans of the infamous incident that had the same taste, “Those of you also that don’t know, Antonio Brown is the infamous wide receiver that bounced right off few teams, but then finally decides to quit on the sidelines while playing for the Bucks.”

He told NBC Sports’ Dustin Long, “We all work really hard and to only run ‘x’ amount of laps and then to have something like a piece of Bear Bond [repair tape] fall off and put us out of the race, it’s really frustrating.”

He added, “Small team. We work really hard. We’ve got to make our sponsors happy, right? It doesn’t do you any good sitting in the garage. It is what it is. We’ll learn from it and move on.”
