“Zero Friends on the Race Track”- Joey Logano Reacts to Kyle Busch Calling him ‘Nobody’s Friend’

Kyle Busch and Joey Logano were involved in a battle on the race-track during the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs race at Bristol last weekend. That battle was then extended outside the track. In his post-race interaction, Kyle Busch termed Joey Logano as ‘nobody’s friend for a reason’.

Logano recently hit back at those claims and said he prefers not having friends on the race-track. He called his racing associations as ‘business relationships’ and stressed that he has many friends outside the track.

“First off, I have a lot of friends. It’s funny, because all of them called me yesterday, or Sunday, and said, ‘Hey, I’m your friend’. That was the beginning of every conversation,” Logano said in an interview.

Joey Logano does not want friends on the track

“Now let me tell you something. I have zero friends on the racetrack, zero. Because I have ‘business relationships’. That’s what they are out there, and I hope it to be good ones,” Logano added.

He then went on to say that all his fellow drivers are competitors who are ‘trying to take food out of his kids’ plate’. That is because everyone wants to do well and defeat the other.

“We’re all competing to try to win. They’re going against me. No friend is gonna do that. No friend is gonna try to take food out of your child’s plate. So they’re relationships, business relationships, and that’s how I look at it.

“I think that’s the best way to look at other driver relationships,” Logano expressed further.

Logano’s reply to Kyle Busch

Logano then said that when Kyle Busch said he is nobody’s friend for a reason, his assessment should be restricted only to the racetrack.

“He’s probably on the racetrack. But away from the racetrack, I feel like I have a great group of people around me that I absolutely love and enjoy being around. That I know support me and are happy for me. I don’t see that happening on the racetrack with anybody,” Logano continued.

Both Busch and Logano are locked into the Round of 12 in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs. Their rivalry will resume at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.
