The 23XI Racing driver, Bubba Wallace, talked about the new nickname given to him in the recent podcast ‘Stacking Pennies’.

Wallace disclosed the creation of his new name to the host of the podcast Corey LaJoie when asked why does Freddie Kraft call Wallace peaches? In a reply, the 28-year-old driver told about an incident which led to the name.

In that conversation Bubba revealed, “So it stems from Bootie Barker, a crew chief, him and I…hey you want to come to sim at 7:30 in the morning, not really…no…all right, you’re such a peach, you’re peach to work with and then Freddy will smart off to him, he’s like you’re peach too. So he calls us peaches.”

However, if you think about it, ‘Peach’ is a well-constructed name as we now know the context behind it. From next time, whenever someone calls you a peach, you’ll know the intent behind it.

In the same interview, Wallace talked about the failures in recent times. The things that cost the team race wins.

Wallace, giving a glimpse into what the team can do to get better results, said, “Everybody taking a step back and look at themselves and seeing how we could do better…um and I could do better throughout the race managing tempers, managing the race..uh Bootie can do better calling a better race, pit crew can do a better job of pitting them, keep the tires on.”

“We had a lot of uh a lot of failures on pit road that cost us a lot of the speed and I keep telling everybody this is the same speed we’ve had all year long but this is a product of execution.”
