Well, Kansas was pretty awesome! Bubba Wallace won his first race this season. And Denny Hamlin being 2nd and Christopher Bell on 3rd means big points for Joe Gibbs. However, it wasn’t all butterflies and roses for every JGR driver. In fact, Kyle Busch was a victim of an equipment interference penalty, like a couple of other guys on the field.

However, Busch had some things to say about it.

When the crew chief for the #18 car told him he got a penalty for equipment interference, a furious Busch said, “I also had to go out and around a guy’s leg from the box in front of me. I had to take it easy to not run over somebody,” Of course, his engineer did say “Yes I’ll fight it after the race here.” But Busch has no faith in the Stewarts for revoking the penalty.

He jokingly replied, “You’d have more luck shooting your foot, and enjoying that.” Okay yeah, that was pretty hilarious. Even the reporter pointed out, “So, Kyle Busch, always entertaining on the radio.” And she sure isn’t wrong.

Now, he got a penalty for equipment interference, which is given when one driver or a team interferes with another team’s equipment. But what did the #18 do to get the penalty?

What did Kyle Busch do to get the penalty?

A lot of fans questioned why he got that penalty to begin with. In fact, some viewers didn’t even know the penalty even existed. But what did Busch do wrong to deserve that? Despite already struggling since the first Playoff race at Darlington, this is one race where he could have aimed for a decent finish. However, the penalty threw him at the back of the grid. So what went wrong?

Dustin Long, a NASCAR Journalist, at NBC Sports, explained, “Kyle Busch asked what happened with equipment interference?”

Since he stopped short (car in front) that left rear went just a foot or 2 into the 38 pit box and crew chief Ben Beshore said the tire made brief contact with a 38 pit crew member and that was the penalty.”
