The Indianapolis Motor Speedway is arguably one of the most iconic race venues in all of motorsports. This is especially true for NASCAR and IndyCar, and the same can be said for Daytona. Recently, Penske driver Joey Logano spoke about the prestige of winning at such a venue.
He said, “Indy is as big [as Daytona], if not bigger. I feel like it’s a track that everyone in the world wants to say they’ve won at. In the history of the Brickyard, it’s incredible. All you have to do is go through the museum when you’re there one day, and say ‘Wow! This is a sacred place’.
“Whether you’re on the oval or you’re on the road course or in a stock car, IndyCar or a tricycle, you want to say you’ve won at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.”

Joey Logano is looking forward to the rest of the season
Obviously, the Team Penske driver will want to triumph at the track. To many American racing drivers, there is no bigger honor than to win the race and kiss the iconic bricks. While IndyCar has its famous Indianapolis 500, NASCAR’s marquee event at the track is the Brickyard 400.

Interestingly, the event only made its NASCAR debut in 1994, but the track is still steeped in history. While Logano surely knows what it means to win at Indianapolis, he is yet to experience it for himself. The only Team Penske winner till date is Brad Keselowski in 2018.
