The two most successful drivers of Hendrick Motorsports, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson, had a coming together in the final restart at Watkins Glen. This made Elliott finish fourth and Larson win the race.
To no one’s surprise, the incident made the NASCAR fans take sides. Now Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, shared his opinion, stating the necessary facts about the decision which made Elliott lose the race.

In the recent episode of Door Bumper Clear, Kraft said, “I’m gonna tell you right now, this wreck is Chase Elliott’s fault”
“You chose the outside lane, you let that guy (Kyle Larson) have control of your race car in the turn one. It’s just simple as that.”
“We’ve seen three races this weekend, three late restarts. And the leader that took the outside lane in all three races lost the races.”
Freddie pointed out, “It’s because you (Elliot) put yourself at the mercy of other people.”
He also added, “I know it’s the preferred lane. I know it gets a better run off at turn one. But you got guys desperate on the bottom to win the race like Kyle Larson was yesterday, not only is Kyle Larson trying to beat Chase Elliott on turn one but he is also defending against AJ Allmendinger behind him, who he knows can be super aggressive in the one.”
This now does seem like a mistake that Elliott made.
