“Beware of an old man in a profession where men usually die young.” No other saying comes close when you describe last week’s race in Phoenix. Now, you may ask, what does that have to do with NASCAR? Well, old warriors do not get old just by accident. They have years and years of experience, knowledge, and pure grit on their side. The recent race in Phoenix just proved that!

During the final laps of the race, an aging lion seemed to be on the prowl, as the veteran Kevin Harvick in an unbelievable turn of events came back to rally his car through a gritty run and surprise the whole racing community.

Denny Hamlin was stunned to see the fire and the fury of Kevin Harvick

Denny, in the recent Action Detrimental podcast, opened up about Harvick’s recent performance in Phoenix. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver, like most of us, seemed excited to see the #4 Mustang in action.

While expressing his obvious excitement, Denny told his co-host, Jared, “you put him in a Hendrick car and probably he’ll lap the field but he, uh, his technique made the difference and you know him getting to the front there and he looked like he was on his way.”

Fans and drivers were exhilarated to see the Stewart-Hass Racing driver closing the gap in such quick succession in stage 3. Denny further said, “I’m so envious of Kevin Harvick because, he’s at his age, he is forty-six or forty-seven? forty-seven, man, he’s still good, I mean he’s so good, its, I, I understand the reason of stepping away but the guy has still got it, he’s carrying that SHR team.”

Just like the majority of us, even Denny couldn’t contain his honest excitement. Mentioning the “Harvick’s line” in the podcast Denny goes on to say, ” Yeah, Harvick was gonna go when, probably should’ve won it, I hated for his team, uh, I know my team and his team, they’re really close, me and Harvick are, are friends and we talk for a bit, our crew chiefs are pretty close. So hate it for those guys, they definitely were deserving.”
