It’s time for the fourth generation of the Earnhardt racing family to carry forward the legacy intact. What started with the originator Ralph Earnhardt and was carried ahead by the Intimidator Dale Earnhardt and his sons is now Jeffrey Earnhardt’s to take forward.

In a recent Dale Jr. Download podcast, NASCAR Xfinity Series driver and Dale Jr‘s nephew Jeffrey Earnhardt shared his fondest memory with his grandfather. During the conversation, his aunt Kelley Earnhardt Miller asked Jeffrey to share his memories of his grandfather.

And while replying to her, Jeffrey revealed that the 2000 Winston Cup Series that marked the Cup debut of his father Kerry Earnhardt was the coolest memory in his mind. He said,

“Yeah, I mean I think there probably one of the coolest was when all three y’all daddy (Kerry Earnhardt), you (Dale Earnhardt Jr), and Papa Dale (Earnhardt Sr) ran at Michigan.”

Explaining how he just was a little kid, probably around ten or eleven years old back then, Jeffrey revealed that the thing he remembers the most is the excitement that everyone around him felt. He said that he was glad to see how much it meant for everyone to see the trio together on the track. He further added,

“I thought that was really cool and I just remember all the people around taking pictures and stuff of the three y’all standing there. I thought that was really cool.”

Jeffrey Earnhardt gets emotional while talking about Dale Earnhardt

Sure, Jeffrey Earnhardt managed to go back to the coolest memory that he had of his grandfather. However, sharing the memory also made him realize the limited amount of time he got to spend with him. He said,

“Yeah, I mean obviously, you never have enough time with people and I wish I would have gotten more time with him than I did, just as I am sure you all do. But yeah, you know around the track that was probably the coolest thing that I thought you know getting to see y’all get a chance to race together.”

Jeffrey made his Sprint Cup Series debut in the 2015 Federated Auto Parts 400 at the Richmond International Raceway. Racing full-time in Xfinity Series this season, Jeffrey finished last week’s race at Daytona in the 28th position.
