“You Get To Choose Your Friends, Not Your Family”- Racing Fans Rally Behind Kenny Wallace’s Selfless $6,900 Act for Ailing Friend

Behind his playful and loud demeanor, at least on YouTube, there is a kind-hearted soul that lies in Kenny Wallace. Recently, the former Cup Series driver shared heartwarming news on his social media platforms. The 60-year-old helped raise a good sum of money for one of his close friends and crew members, Frankie ‘Jughead’ Rawlins. The gesture won racing fans’ hearts.

Despite it being several years since he bid farewell to his NASCAR racing career, Kenny Wallace has kept himself relevant among fans, thanks to his content. The veteran is perhaps one of the most likable NASCAR content creators in the world today.

Kenny Wallace’s strong sense of friendship on full display

Shot in what seems to be his shop Wallace Racing, the veteran revealed that they had been raising funds for a while to help his friend Jughead get treatment for his ailments. The former Cup Series driver has been supported by Matt James of Race Ranch Clothing Co. and Chris Rose of High Caliber Graphics.

One of the ways they were raising money for Jughead was by selling apparel through Race Ranch Clothing. The design of the apparel for this campaign was done by Chris Rose. Jughead was seen sporting one such hoodie which read “#jugheadstrong” in bold letters.

The two raised $6,900 for Jughead’s treatment and when they handed over the check to their friend, he rightfully exclaimed, “Holy moly.” Rose and James hoped that the contribution would help him get healthy again in what was an emotional moment. However, it did not take long for Kenny Wallace to jump in with his humor and lighten the mood.

Jughead would then provide an update regarding his health and what the next steps will be. Kenny Wallace proceeded to express his gratitude to Chris Rose and Matt James. The former Cup Series racer shares a strong friendship with his crew member, as he can be seen making several videos with him, speaking about more than just his health.

It was an incredible gesture by Kenny Wallace, thanks to whom, fans were made aware of Jughead’s situation and probably bought the clothing items from Race Ranch Clothing to help him out. When Wallace revealed that they had raised $6,900, they were full of admiration for the former Cup Series driver.

One fan reminded people of the age-old phrase about friends being the people one chooses to have in their life as they hailed Kenny Wallace’s efforts in YouTube comments. “You get to choose your friends, not your family. Kenny is the bomb!  Praying for Jughead!”

People were inspired by the love shown by the racing community to help out one of their own in need. “This is so cool, on so many ways. The love that’s being shown to Jug Head, and outpouring of support says a lot. I don’t think this happens without you, Kenny. You’re the one that’s made all of this happen, God bless you.”

“So inspiring to see there are so many good people in the racing community to help one of its own. We need more goodness like that! God bless,” wrote another fan.

And of course, there was an outpour of love and respect for Kenny Wallace for the part he played to raise the funds for such a valid cause. “Kenny, you are an awesome person,” one fan wrote.

“Absolutely outstanding Kenny.  I really wish the best for Jughead stay strong Jughead it will be ok,” commented another.

It is these gestures that show what kind of a human being a person really is. Kenny Wallace’s down-to-earth nature resonates with a lot of people and we hope that his friend gets healthy as soon as possible.
