“Ep 355 was my last,” Brett Griffin posted this on X, announcing his exit from the Door Bumper Clear podcast. This was indeed a surprise to regular listeners of the DBC podcast and the listeners of Dale Earnhardt’s Jr. Dirty Mo Media in general. The reason behind Griffin’s exit has not yet been revealed, but how the two parties split up leaves you wondering if it was on good terms.
Brett Griffin has been a spotter for drivers like Clint Bowyer and Jeff Burton. However, he’s an industry veteran, and his knowledge and experience about NASCAR make him an interesting character. Not to forget, he is known for his honest and unfiltered opinion, which is one of the prominent reasons fans tune in to listen to his views and take on hot topics surrounding NASCAR.
He certainly garnered a good following of ardent fans and listeners speaking alongside his co-hosts, Freddie Kraft and T.J. Majors. Unfortunately, this trio won’t be able to run another season of DBC together as Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Mike Davis are planning to bring in a new guest. Taking to X, Dirty Mo Media’s President and Executive Producer, Davis wrote, “DBC is absolutely coming back in 2025. You won’t believe who’s coming with it. 👀”

Fans weren’t impressed with the decision to sack Griffin in the first place. As many believed, he was the reason why a huge chunk of hardcore fans got connected back to NASCAR due to his influence. Moreover, the fans were just not open to the idea of Griffin being replaced by someone else on the DBC panel. “There is no replacement for The Brett Griffin. We gonna miss ya, big guy.”

And now that Dirty Mo Media has dropped an update about Griffin’s replacement, fans didn’t hold back in sharing their view on this shake-up. They also speculated that the split between Griffin and DBC was far from mutual.

Is Brett Griffin irreplaceable on DBC, or can a new guest fill his shoes effectively?
Have an interesting take?
Is this some sort of prank that Dale Jr. and the team are trying to pull off with their fans? Well, going by Griffin’s comments, it is hard to believe any of that is true. Moreover, this race fan isn’t bothered about the hype of the new guest at DBC. And would’ve accepted T.J. Major’s exit over Griffin, “@MikeDavis88 won’t listen. Even tho I’ve dreamed of no TJ. Without Brett it won’t be the same. Tease it up all you want. @SpotterBrett isn’t coming back, either am I. I know I’m not alone.”
Brett was appreciative of the love and support he received from the fans after hearing about his split from DBC. However, his comments on X felt like the decision to end his stint on the podcast wasn’t mutual. “Thanks for the kind words. Means a lot. Not everyone sees it the way you and I do.” Griffin replied this on X. Adding to this sentiment, a fan also chimed in that there could be a conflict of ideas on how things are run at the show. Which eventually saw Griffin be on the bitter end of the deal, “Sounds like this wasn’t a choice of yours? At best sounds like a mutual agreement to parts ways for some underlying reason….”

The Door Bumper Clear podcast is a mix of different characters. While Griffin and Freddie Kraft are known to stir up controversy with their unfiltered takes, T.J. has a more laid-back approach. Therefore, this race fan demanded that whoever is replacing Griffin better be good, or the show could take a hit in terms of ratings and popularity. “It better be good. I was not pleased to see Brett removed. If you were going to replace someone, it should have been TJ. He’s so dry compared to Brett and Freddie.”
Brett Griffin certainly didn’t pull any punches in questioning his fellow co-host Freddie Kraft, over his involvement in the race manipulation that took place at Martinsville. While it is hard to say if his consistent peppering of Kraft led to his exit from DBC, the fans certainly sided with him in what looks like a bittersweet ending to his role at the show. “They ran you off? Unreal. You fired the guy who started the show, and now you’re bragging about his replacement? What world do you live in?”
One of the fans even went on to highlight the DBC outperforming DJD on Apple. And most of them tuned in to hear what Griffin had to say about the entire week of stories that transpired in NASCAR. But, without his presence on the show, many of them are now open to boycotting DBC for good, “If Brett isn’t on, I’m out! I am sure others will feel the same way.”
