In the latest episode of the Dale Jr Download, several great stories of Dale Earnhardt were shared. Among them, there was an absolutely hilarious incident involving an electric fence. 54-year-old Steve Park reminisced an occasion when they were heading to Dale Sr’s farm and he nearly scared him to death.

He said, “He’s come up to an electric fence. We’re coming down a dirt road heading to the farm, cruising along at 50 miles an hour. He’s hitting all these clickers on top of his visor and that fence ain’t budging. I’m looking at him and I’m trying to time it like, ‘We’re going 50 miles and hour’. Even if we hit the brakes right now, we’re going to hit that fence. All of a sudden, Boom! The fence started opening. There’s no way this fence is going to get all the way open before we get this truck through it at 50 miles an hour. So at the last second, I was seat-belted in, braced up against the floor tightened up. I was like, ‘Dale we’re not going to make it!’. He looked at me, ‘You don’t tell a 7-time Winston Cup champion how to drive’.”

According to Park, they smashed through the gate and knocked off both mirrors. When he gaped at Dale Sr, the 7-time champion looked like he regretted nothing. Instead, he had a half-smirk on his face, as he waited for his friend to say something. At that moment, Park knew that he had been beaten and had nothing to say.

Speaking of Steve Park, he enjoyed a relatively average career in NASCAR. In the Cup Series, he had two wins, which came in 2000 at Watkins Glen, and in 2001 at Rockingham. He also had three Xfinity series wins, which came at Nashville, Michigan, and Richmond in 1997. Finally, he grabbed a single Truck Series win in 2005 at the Auto Club Speedway.
