The 2020 Cup Series concluded with Chase Elliott winning and Joey Logano finishing 3rd. Now, Logano will have to try again to gun for his second championship. Following the Cup race at the Phoenix Raceway, he spoke about his takeaways from this season.
The driver acknowledged that 2020 was a new year with a new driver‑crew chief pairing. In addition to that, there was the added hassle of the mandatory COVID protocols. This meant that everyone had to stringently observe social distancing, as well as the axing of practice and qualifying.
This change made it hugely difficult to adapt to, as many teams were effectively going in blind and on a wing and a prayer. Joey Logano acknowledged that for him and the Penske team to achieve a top 4 is something to be proud of.

Joey Logano is looking at the bright side
He said, “We’ve got to look at the positives. I’m always a silver linings person. It’s hard to do right now, but I will say we’ve grown a lot, and it makes me really excited for 2021.”
According to Logano, there is no losing in such a situation. This is because the only two options are to win or get stronger than the previous year. For the 30-year-old in particular, he had to settle for simply growing stronger. However, the Penske driver is confident that he will perform better next year and mount a serious challenge.

“You don’t lose in these situations. You either win or get stronger, and unfortunately, we are the stronger ones today and we’ll get stronger, but we’ll be better for next year,” Logano said.
Although he is the 2018 Cup Series champion, he cannot be satisfied with just one title under his belt. Now, he has to wait for the 2021 season to have a second crack at the championship.
