This is huge! Some big NASCAR names will now back one of the most popular regional series. Reportedly, four famous NASCAR personalities have come together as an ownership group to purchase the late-model track series CARS Tour. Dale Earnhardt Jr, Jeff Burton, Kevin Harvick, and Justin Marks are the iconic individuals involved.
Founded by Jack McNelly along with a group of investors in 2014, the CARS Tour marked the late-model racing debut of Dale Earnhardt Jr. And now, the NASCAR Hall of Famer will be joining three other investors to acquire the asphalt late-model series. As reported by the Charlotte Observer, the acquisition will help “bolster the health and longevity of the CARS Tour by providing proficiencies in brand management, business strategy, and partnership acquisition and retention.”
However, although they have sold the series, the original founder Jack McNelly, along with Keeley Dubensky, will still be responsible for the day-to-day operations. This means that the investment by the 4 NASCAR celebrities is just a boost that the already established structure requires. Explaining the involvement of Earnhardt Jr and his fellow investors in the series, Motorsports Journalist Matt Weaver shared a Tweet.
