The Xfinity Series race in Martinsville had all the elements for a blockbuster event, including an epic, dramatic finish and a feel-good gesture that took over the community. Racking up his fourth win of the season, Dale Earnhardt Jr.‘s #7 driver, Justin Allgaier, defied all odds to come back with a late rally and take the throne at the half-mile speedway.

Battling for the remaining 3 spots in the final 4, the field went bonkers with a blistering pace as drivers looked for openings to make up points and secure a championship shot. While the JRM driver’s win had a feel-good element to it as the driver after his post-race interview ran over to hug his wife, another driver took the spotlight with his wholesome gesture in the victory lane, earning the fans’ praise.

The battle was intense, and Allgaier‘s win was epic. The pack unleashed its full fury as each driver eyed a decisive win to place themselves in the championship race. Joe Gibbs Racing‘s John Hunter Nemechek was the first to secure a spot after he aced the second stage of the race.

However, up until the late restart, things weren’t all that great for Justin Allgaier, who was caught up in the pack while Richard Childress Racing‘s Austin Hill and Sheldon Creed were dueling it out for the top position. Going into overtime, Creed took the lead from his teammate but failed to block. Amidst the ensuing battle for the lead, Allgaier saw the opening and took it in the final turn to pull off a last-lap stunner.

With this win, the #7 driver cemented his spot in the final 4, edging out Hill who desperately needed a win. Allgaier also made up for disappointments acing the 0.5-mile track for a win, one that he deserved. Following the driver’s “emotional win,” he went on to finish the post-race interview before he ran down the track to hug his wife.

But what caught the community’s attention was Josh William’s cool gesture. To celebrate Justin Allgaier’s win, Williams popped a cold one, essentially saying cheers to the race winner and winning the community’s hearts. The part-time Truck Series driver didn’t want to ruin the couple’s moment as he stood in the victory lane waiting for Allgaier with a beer, earning fans’ approval: “Josh is one of the only drivers who can finish mid-pack and be a winner every week, I love it!”
