It’s not just the big teams making all the moves this silly season. A rumor has been floating around about a certain Kaz Grala and Rick Ware Racing. It was reported by Seriously Fast Motorsports in December last year that the Xfinity Series star would join the Cup Series team full-time.

The rumor may come as a bit of a shock for some people as Kaz Grala really has not done anything of consequence in the Xfinity Series so far in his career. He has only raced in one full season of the competition, 2023 with Sam Hunt Racing, and he didn’t even win a race. He’s taken part in 7 Cup races, earning a best result of P6 with Kaulig Racing at Talladega in 2021. Grala recently shared an update about his career, where he did not reveal anything, but certainly gave fans a lot to think about.

In November of last year, Sam Hunt Racing announced that Kaz Grala would not be part of their driver program in 2024. The 25-year-old driver earned 2 top five and 9 top ten finishes and ended the season at P17 in the standings. The team acknowledged Grala’s standings in their farewell tweet and wished him all the best for the next season.

Things around Grala remained quiet for a few weeks as the holiday season flew by. But the 25-year-old driver recently shared an update about his future and with that, the Rick Ware Racing rumors are back again.

“Can’t believe 2023 is officially in the rearview mirror. I had the chance to work with some incredible people @Team_SHR26 and grow in my first full-time season in six years. Today begins a new chapter in 2024, and I couldn’t be more excited and ready. Any guesses?” Grala tweeted.

The NASCAR Twitter audience had more than just a guess. They were pretty much sure that the 25-year-old was on his way to the Cup Series full-time for Rick Ware Racing. However, it turns out that the lack of an official announcement has had fans on the edge as they prayed for their prediction to come true in the comments section.

An enthusiastic fan wished Kaz Grala a happy new year and expressed his excitement at a potential partnership with Justin Haley. They believed that a full-time Cup Series opportunity would give the 25-year-old the chance to showcase his skills much more than he has been able to of late.

“Happy New Year, Kaz! I’m hoping the RWR story is true–you and Justin Haley under the same roof with an RFK alliance would be insane! That said, as long as you’re going somewhere that will give you an opportunity to showcase your talent, I’ll be thrilled. Ready to buy some merch,” they wrote.

Another user expressed their anxiousness over the lack of any official announcements by Rick Ware Racing or Kaz Grala over his potential move in the near future. “I really hope rick ware racing but I’m a bit nervous that the news hasn’t come out yet,” they commented.

Despite not winning a race last season, some fans believe that Kaz Grala finishing in the top 10 nine times with Sam Hunt Racing was an achievement good enough to get him into the Cup Series. Are they right? We will see.

“What a great year, Kaz! A lot of Top10’s with Sam Hunt’s machinery is quite impressive. You show all your talent on that Supra. If the RWR rumors were true, I can’t wait to see you full-time on Cup,” they commented.

Another couple of fans were more confident of Grala’s future as they commented on the 25-year-old’s team in 2024. “@RickWareRacing ya got any idea where he’s going??” wrote one user.

“RWR. No. 15. Cup. Full Time,” commented another.
