In her candid manner, she pointed out the uphill battle aspiring drivers face due to the exorbitant costs associated with racing as she stressed just how difficult it is to get behind the wheel of a stock car.
The topic made its way when they were discussing the benefits of having experience in different racing cars in multiple categories. “So what you’re saying is it’s the reps. It’s the constant doing, racing, eye-hand coordination. That’s what you feel really helps you?” Kenny asked Deegan.
“Yeah, I think that just being behind the wheel of so many different things. I feel like when you’re in situations, like tough situations. I feel like that’s when those things come out that you’ve learned from other vehicles,” said Deegan. “And just getting experience like being able to feel things that you haven’t in that certain car because you drove this car over here you’re like okay I remember when I drove this. It feels similar and be able to kind of work around those things. I think it’s just good. Especially in stock car racing, it’s not cheap to get laps… it’s definitely something that’s hard and so I think utilizing other resources that are more financially probably a little bit less expensive decision helps a lot.”

Deegan shared, “Oh man, I don’t know what’s happened in the last couple of weeks or what’s changed. But I’ve been lacking a little confidence these last couple of months. And I feel like these, I don’t know, last 2 or 3 races it’s starting to come back. And I am starting to get those finishes, starting to have more speed and it’s just all coming together. I’ve been working really really hard last couple of weeks and it’s paying off.”
