Cole Custer has the chance to make history. After securing the regular season championship with his second win of the season at Bristol, the 26-year-old is now eyeing an even bigger prize. Tony Stewart’s driver is hoping to secure a string of good results in the seven remaining races of the season to win back-to-back Xfinity Series championships. With playoffs beginning at Kansas Speedway, Custer is hoping to start his postseason with a victory and seems to have plenty of cheerleaders supporting him in this pursuit.
In a rare collaboration with WWE, NXT stars “All Ego” Ethan Page and Kelani Jordan have taken to social media to back the No. 00 Ford Mustang driver ahead of the 2024 Kansas Lottery 300.

Who would have predicted that Cole Custer would win the regular series championship? The 26-year-old was 43 points behind Justin Allgaier going into the race at Bristol Motors Speedway in what was the final game before the playoffs began. However, it wasn’t just purely down to luck that Tony Stewart’s mentee overturned the deficit at ‘The Last Great Colosseum’. He finished second in qualifying and remained in the hunt for a victory throughout the race, ending up seventh and second in the opening two stages. Two incidents for Allgaier with just 10 laps to go also helped Custer’s cause, as the JR Motorsports driver was forced to settle for a 30th-place finish.
Now that it’s in the past, the focus has shifted to the playoffs beginning at Kansas Speedway. The stakes are higher than ever with just a handful of races remaining in the season, which is why WWE NXT star Kelani Jordan has expressed her hopes that Cole Custer can win the race at the opening postseason race. She said, “We’re super excited to come to Kansas and watch you kill it in the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs. I can’t wait to see you Zoom across the track in the 00-car and bring it all home.”
Canadian wrestler Ethan Page was also featured in the video, and was seen asking NASCAR fans, “Are you ready for the NASCAR Xfinity Series playoffs?” He went on to say, “Cause me and the rest of NXT are ready to see 00 hit the track this weekend in Kansas.” Reminding fans that Xfinity coverage had switched to a new broadcaster for the remainder of the season, the Canadian wrestler concluded by saying, “Be sure to check us out on The CW.”

Irrespective of how his season ends, Cole Custer will be a Cup Series driver next year. With Stewart-Haas Racing ceasing operations at the end of the 2024 season, Tony Stewart’s business partner Gene Haas had decided to retain a charter at NASCAR’s highest level and rename it to the Haas Factory Team. While Custer remains one of the favorites to win the Xfinity Series once again, he will be comforted to know that his future is secure, irrespective of the outcome of the ongoing campaign. If the California native does manage to retain the silverware, he will be the sixth driver in the past three decades to accomplish the feat.

While the playoffs will represent a different challenge for Cole Custer, Tony Stewart’s driver will be confident about his chances, particularly after the outcome at Bristol. He led 104 laps during the 2024 Food City 300, showcasing just how well his team had devised his race strategy and execution. Custer’s 15th Xfinity Series victory came in the most dramatic circumstances, as just 0.896 seconds separating him from Sheldon Creed. The 2023 winner will take the result with both hands, hoping that the momentum will be on his side during the business end of the season.

The car also showcases broadcaster The CW’s branding, as they will be airing the NXT starting from October 1st. Despite merchandising being a big part of collaborations and special liveries, WWE NXT’s partnership with the team co-owned by Tony Stewart won’t be having any memorabilia to mark the occasion that fans can buy. Expressing disappointment about it, a NASCAR fan went on to say, “That car is awesome but unfortunately, we won’t be getting any merch for it which sucks because I buy a shirt hat, and diecast for that car.” Hoping that Custer will make it to Victory Lane at Kansas, another fan couldn’t help but express his admiration for the car by saying, “That’s a bada** car would love see you win it Cole.”
The compliments didn’t stop there as a fan praised the brand-new livery of Custer’s car while expressing hopes that Tony Stewart’s driver will retain his Xfinity Series title. The X user wrote, “Great looking car! Best of luck on winning the Championship. You’re the man!” Echoing that sentiment, another fan expressed happiness about Custer’s new sponsorship ahead of the playoffs by saying, “This paint scheme looks awesome, and I’m glad he got sponsored by the WWE.”
