Kyle Larson continues to be the man of the hour. With his recent triumph at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Larson has not only cemented his position as a force to be reckoned with but also punched his ticket to the Championship 4 race. While he is now in a prime position to repeat his 2021 feat, the Hendrick Motorsports maestro is also well-known for his dominance on both ovals and dirt tracks, which is where his journey in racing began.

Larson‘s roots in sprint car racing run deep, and his countless wins have earned him a spot in the top 25 all-time A-Feature winners in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Racing series. However, Larson’s dominance is not without challengers as a sprint car phenom who has been nipping at his heels, recently claiming a victory at the Farewell Devil’s Bowl race.

October 21, 2023, will forever be etched in the annals of motorsport history as the bittersweet end of an era. Devil’s Bowl Speedway, a legendary venue in Mesquite, Texas, known for its half-mile dirt track, hosted its final event as it prepares to close its doors to racing enthusiasts. The iconic track, which has witnessed countless thrilling moments, was home to the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series for decades, making it a historic chapter in the sport’s history.

Track promoter Lanny Ross Edwards delivered the heart-wrenching news that the beloved Devil’s Bowl Speedway had been sold, bringing an end to its rich legacy. But it wasn’t just a farewell to the track; it was also a historic night for Carson Macedo. The Lemoore, California native piloted his No. 42 Jason Johnson Racing sprint car with finesse. Starting from the pole position in the 25-lap feature, Macedo put on a phenomenal show. His race was a masterclass in strategy, as he made a strong start, executed a timely lane change, and skillfully navigated through traffic to secure his first checkered flag at the historic Devil’s Bowl Speedway.

Macedo’s victory was not only a testament to his talent but also a significant moment in the world of sprint car racing. With this win, he equaled the impressive win tally of 29 victories, a record previously held by Kyle Larson. What makes this achievement even more special is the fact that Macedo’s entry into the World of Outlaws began with Kyle Larson Racing back in 2019 where he collected the Rookie of the Year honor.
