In the 2022 NASCAR Cup season, 14 drivers have booked their Playoff berths. However, Ryan Blaney is not one of them, as he has yet to win a race this campaign.

In spite of this, he sits in 3rd place in the points standings, and is the first of the non-winners. The bad news is that with six races left, there is a danger of more new winners.

Recently, he spoke about his Playoff chances and said, “I mean, between myself and Truex and Harvick, we’ve all had decent years. We’re just all sitting in kind of a funky spot. It just shows this new car can produce all these different kinds of winners. I don’t really sit around and I’m like, man I’m surprised we haven’t won.”

“I just try to figure out how we can do it. We do have a car capable of winning, what can we make better to make sure we capitalize on those opportunities?”

Can Ryan Blaney qualify for the 2022 Cup Series Playoffs?

Truthfully speaking, he is more than capable of qualifying for the Playoffs. The Team Penske driver has been incredibly consistent this season, with ten Top 10 finishes this season and the highest finish of 3rd. Now for the Cup race at Pocono, Blaney has qualified in 6th place.

This places the #12 driver in a strong position to try and win the race. However, it will not be easy, as the Joe Gibbs Racing drivers look pretty quick.

Nevertheless, Blaney will not be willing to give up so easily. However, the pressure is on him to rack up a win to automatically qualify. Furthermore, he also has to watch out for the likes of Kevin Harvick and Martin Truex Jr, who will be highly motivated.

Both Harvick and Truex Jr are great drivers and former champions, so they have a wealth of experience.

However, Blaney is a talented driver and will want to join his teammates, Austin Cindric and Joey Logano.
