Should it be termed a prudent choice, or a choice marked with utter foolishness? Brad Keselowski marked his 100th winless streak in just the second race of the season at Atlanta. This number iterates that the former Cup Series champion has not been able to park his car in the victory lane since 2021. However, the driver seems to be unfazed by the numbers. For Keselowski, it is the performance that he is able to deliver every weekend. Well, the gamble on performance as a driver is indeed justified, but does it suffice for the morale boost of the team and the organization overall? This is something to ponder upon.
Although Brad Keselowski has tasted victory at the highest level of the sport, his newly re-branded team RFK Racing is yet to tread on that road of success. Owing to this, it is apparent that the 2024 season is a pivotal season for Brad Keselowski, or his team RFK Racing might come down with a catastrophe.

As a driver, Brad Keselowski’s records remain unparalleled to date. Whether it was claiming the crowning glory in 2014 when he secured the Cup Series championship or his fair record of 35 victories, the driver turned co-owner has reached the zenith of racing through the sheer display of his capabilities as a driver. However, since the rollout of the Next Gen car, the driver seemed to lose his spark.

While this performance might not affect the already illustrious resume of nonchalant Keselowski, it may affect the performance of the team in the ongoing season. This is apparent after Keselowski’s spotter, TJ Majors, emphasized how the personnel of the #6 Ford team are unable to push their limits further and work out of their comfort zone.
Speaking to his co-host Freddie Kraft and guest Rajah Caruth on their podcast Door Bumper Clear, Majors stated, “That’s what we went up against the first year at RFK, we were not very good and then to gain the ground that we did to be even where we were last year was a huge difference.”
“But dude we passed a bunch of cars and I looked up and I am like ‘Ah we are going to be good here and I am like oh we are like 23rd, like Oh God.’ it took us a long time to go through there. We were really good in the long run and anytime it didn’t settle into a long run could hurt us a little bit and it was we had a really bad pit stall. Three had a very good day, he was fast, we had to come around him, and then as we would get stopped the 41 would around us, so that was.”
“I mean that starts with qualifying. You don’t qualify good you don’t get good pit stall. Every time you get out you get a chance, like our pit crew is one of the better ones on the pit road, if not the best pit crew on the pit road. You don’t give them guys a chance to work right, you are taking away the advantage that you have there so it just all starts with how you unload,” Majors concluded.

TJ Majors’ observation might come as handy to Brad Keselowski, who had already stated that numbers and winless streaks don’t challenge him any further. He has brushed aside the statistics, long after he had joined RFK Racing as a co-owner.
Transformed into a shadow of his glorious days, Keselowski had stated to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sport, “I’m not paying any attention to it, to be honest. What matters to me? I would rather be fast every week and contending for wins than fall a*s-backwards into a race win and say, Oh, the streak is over.’”
The streak is yet to be over for Brad Keselowski, as two races out of the three races ended in a wreck. The only respectable finish that the driver has been able to notch is at last Sunday’s race in Las Vegas where he finished 13th. As a result, he stands 28th in the points table for now.
