William Byron had every reason to celebrate after his historic second consecutive Daytona 500 victory. But instead of just basking in his on-track success, the Hendrick Motorsports driver found himself in the middle of a social media storm. The reason? A simple “Hi.” A picture went viral on social media, showcasing his alleged Instagram message to pop star Sabrina Carpenter. This instantly sparked speculation about a potential romance between the two.

Fresh off his second consecutive Daytona 500 victory, Byron quickly shut down the rumors. He took to social media, sharing a video where an unidentified voice clarified, “That was not me.” Despite the denial, the internet refused to let the moment die. Fans speculated whether Byron had accidentally sent the message before deleting it or if the whole thing was a prank.

While some athletes might shy away from such gossip, Byron decided to turn the viral moment into something even better. Instead of ignoring the buzz, he played along, taking the joke to another level. In the latest interview, Hendrick Motorsports driver asked Carpenter for a special outing.

William Byron’s bold move shocked fans!

As the internet is buzzing with his rumored relationship with singer Sabrina Carpenter, William Byron decided to lean into the joke. In an interview with TMZ.com, the HMS driver addressed the speculations. While he denied any romantic connection with Carpenter, he openly asked her to come to a NASCAR race. He even expressed his intentions to attend one of her shows.

You know, they do a really good job with Photoshop nowadays, so it was a good parody account. It’s like that NBA Central account, so yeah, they did a good job, but maybe we can get her out to a race or something, that’d be great, or I can get to a show, that’d be fun,” said Byron. Byron’s light-hearted approach caught fans by surprise. However, Carpenter has yet to respond to the ongoing speculations.

Notably, the rumors linking Byron and Carpenter gained even more momentum because of his recent breakup. The Hendrick Motorsports driver was previously in a long-term relationship with Erin Blaney, sister of fellow NASCAR star Ryan Blaney. The couple had been together for nearly four years before reportedly parting ways. While Byron has not publicly commented on the breakup, fans couldn’t ignore the timing.

While fans expected something spicy out of this, the rumor turned out to be fun for many. NASCAR driver Carson Hocevar also jumped into the mix. The Spire Motorsports’ No. 77 Chevy driver jokingly played the role of Byron’s supportive wingman. “Yeah, Byron, let me borrow his Lambo the other day and then flew me on his private jet back from Daytona right after he won. So, I appreciate (that). Nice guy. Sabrina is lucky to have him,” Hocevar quipped.

It’s worth noting that Carpenter is not new to the NASCAR world. In 2015, she performed at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards in Las Vegas. At just 16 years old, she sang her hit song “We’ll Be the Stars,” introducing her music to the motorsport’s audience. While there is no confirmed connection between her and Byron, her past ties to the sport gave fans a reason to believe that a NASCAR-pop star crossover wasn’t entirely out of the question.

While the rumor may not lead to anything serious, it has undoubtedly added some unexpected excitement to the NASCAR world. But this isn’t the first time Byron has found himself involved in an off-track relationship story. Just ask Ryan Blaney, who had a front-row seat to Byron dating his sister.

Ryan Blaney’s reaction to Byron dating his sister!

While William Byron’s name is currently linked to Sabrina Carpenter, his past relationship with Erin Blaney remains a favorite topic among NASCAR fans. The story of how Ryan Blaney found out about his sister’s relationship with Byron is no less than a Hollywood-level movie. In 2020, The Team Penske driver learned about Erin’s relationship with Byron through a friend. While some might have expected an overprotective brother reaction, Blaney took the news in stride.

I wanted to mess with him before the race and tell him that I slyly figured it out. But I didn’t,” Blaney admitted in an interview. Despite his initial surprise, Blaney made it clear that he had no issues with the relationship. “People always ask me, ‘Are you mad that Will is dating your sister?’ I don’t care. She’s 22 and can do whatever she wants. And I like him. So, it’s all good,” he added.

However, NASCAR drivers often joked about the relationship. Corey LaJoie once joked that Byron’s relationship with Erin created the ultimate mind game on the track. “You can’t wreck your sister’s boyfriend. You just can’t do it!” said LaJoie. Former driver Clint Bowyer also echoed the sentiments and said, “Whatever happens on the track, guess what? I’m going home with your sister!

Despite their four-year-long relationship in late 2024, the couple decided to part ways. However, no one revealed the reason behind the decision. For now, Byron will be focusing on continuing his momentum. He will want to see Victory Lane more often in upcoming races and make himself a genuine contender for the championship.
