At the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Bubba Wallace did not endear himself to anyone. This was because he was battling with defending champion Kyle Larson, when they clashed. Wallace clipped the wall and then appeared to deliberately drive into the Hendrick Motorsports driver. As a result, both of them were taken out of the race, along with Christopher Bell, who was an innocent victim. In light of this incident, spotter Freddie Kraft talked about the moment and altercation.

He said, “If Bubba got out of that car yesterday and said, ‘I intentionally right-hooked Kyle Larson. Cause he ran me in the fence’. There’d be nothing I can say on this show to defend him. We said it on here, a thousand times, you can’t do that. Obviously, Bubba got out and said what he said about the steering breaking. Is that a lesson learned from the past?”

He reflected on earlier incidents where drivers blatantly wrecked rivals. This includes the likes of Noah Gragson and Elliott’s own teammate, William Byron. In Byron’s case, he spun Denny Hamlin out during a caution, leaving no doubt that it was intentional. Especially since he openly admitted that he intended to wreck the #11 driver. On the other hand, there was Gragson’s accident, which was more high-speed and dangerous.

Kraft continued, “You’ve just seen Noah Gragson admitting to wrecking somebody on purpose at Road America, and he got his fine and suspension. Bubba got the only fine and suspension, or fine and loss of points for intentionally spinning, because he admitted it. So you can’t ever get out and say, ‘Yeah, I did that on purpose’. Whether you choose to believe him or not, that’s one thing. But like we’ve talked about before, you can’t do that.”

Kraft acknowledged that there was no excusing Wallace’s actions at Las Vegas. There was also an earlier incident with Alex Bowman, when he hooked Wallace. Similarly, Michael McDowell did the same, this season as well, but it was no excuse for the 23XI Racing driver.
